100 posts and a movie!

This blog began as a direct result of a 12WBT challenge a couple of years ago, during my very first round, and with this being my 100th post, it seems fitting that it's for a challenge/competition run by 12WBT.

The deal is to submit a photo or video that spoke of how we live healthy, fit, and mindful lives as a result of 12WBT,

I was asked by the lovely Cathy Sheargold if I was going to enter, and once I read up about it I thought 'Why the hell not!?'

I knew immediately what I wanted to do, and asked Cathy if she would help me she is such a wizard with the whole video making thing and I have no clue, and she kindly agreed.  What a dead set legend that girl is!

In the end I did it myself  oh dear!  as waiting for the clips was cutting the time frame a bit close to expect someone else to do it, especially when it was a favour.

So anyway, I asked a few people if they would do me a short video of what changes they could see in me, not so much the obvious physical changes, but the more intangible ones - the choices I make, my state of mind etc...

Madam Lash and the Minions were straight on it, DS wanted to, but got too overwhelmed with what he wanted to say, and just couldn't do it. Tugs at the heartstrings that doesn't it?  He's proud as punch of me, but isn't really the vocal sort, so that's okay.  DD sussed it out and then agreed, and even Mum & Dad said they'd do a clip each for me.

My initial idea for it was to take snippets from the clips and stitch them together with a song in the background, which I thought would be easy and probably is if you know what you're doing, which I don't, but it wasn't, so I gave up and wrote some quotes from the clips on slides and set it to music!

Much easier, but still a challenge, made even more so by the fact that it could only be a maximum of 2 minutes in length.

In the end I made two videos, the official entry video, which I managed to get down to the required 2 minutes, and one containing all of the original clips sent to me which has come out at almost 8 minutes!

So I've decided to post them both here, along the official music video of the song I used.  "Fight Song" by Rachel Platten.

To all the gorgeous people in my life who contributed,
thank you so much for your beautiful words.

To all the other gorgeous people in my life, thank you too,
for your unwavering love and support,
your words may be unspoken,
but they are just as powerful, just as loving,
and mean just as much to me.

Without further ado,

The official entry...

The original clips...
TIP:  Look out for The Minions, they're a hoot!

I've still got a lot of fight left in me!
