By way of explanation, a FFS post is one in which you detail the crappy, frustrating, laughable, and downright weird stuff that's happened to you during (usually) the week.
Where does FFS come in and what does it mean? It's what goes at the end of the line/sentence/paragraph you're writing, and is a nicer way of saying 'For F**k Sake' plus it's shorter.
It's the brainchild (I think) of another blogger, and former 12WBT'er, who can be found at Dear Baby G. She does a weekly FFS Friday post, in which she proves that all families are more than a little crazy.
So without further ado I am pleased to present to you, My First FFS!
Well, it's been about a month since my last post, the one about Madam Lash being an Iron Woman - and it has been an interesting month to say the least. I was crook as a dog with the Dreaded Lurgy when I wrote it, and it took me weeks to get over. FFS
Whilst still in the grips of said Dreaded Lurgy, BM & I had to dash off to the family farm on the Dorrigo Plateau as his Dad (FIL) had a bad reaction to a blood transfusion which caused his feet to swell to the size of footballs. FFS
No one knows what the problem was or why it happened, it's just 'one of those things' apparently, but the poor old bugger has had nothing but problems since November last year when he was airlifted to RNS Hospital in critical condition. Historical FFS
It started with him having a septic gall bladder, and ended with him being diagnosed with cancer of the blood plasma and a separate pre-Leukaemic condition as well as Aneamia - hence the regular transfusions. FFS
We stopped at Armidale to do some shopping of the food and grog variety, before lobbing up at the farm. I was coming up the stairs from Dan Murphy's, when I fell, again, and landed on my knee, again. The worst part was that I was Stone.Cold.Sober. FFS
We arrived at the farm after a 5 hour drive to find FIL pretty much confined to his recliner, unable for the most part to get around, and in excruciating pain. FFS
FIL has no pain meds unless you count Panadol, no mobility aids, no home care - nothing. FFS
By this time he had been like it for almost a week. FFS
It also transpires that somehow he tore the ligament in his right shoulder (he's right handed) and even though the doctor diagnosed the problem and sent him for X-rays, no treatment of any sort or physiotherapy was prescribed. FFS
He now has a frozen shoulder, a stuffed rotator cuff, an arm that hangs limp and useless at his side, and he can't use that hand. At all. FFS
Both his feet are so swollen that ALL 10 toes point to the ceiling. FFS
His GP and specialist disagree about what is wrong with him. FFS
After being there a day and a half, the Dreaded Lurgy cleared up. No FFS
On the morning of the 3rd day I woke up with the Mother Of All UTI's and couldn't get to a doctor. FFS
The specialist prescribed FIL pain medication that is basically Morphine. No FFS
He eats them like lollies and is in so much pain they barely work. FFS
His wife (MIL) resents him being so sick, as her uncontrolled diabetes is no longer the focus of everyone's attention, and treats him accordingly. FFS
His medication regime was in such a mess that people were confused as to what he should take every day, and were probably giving him the wrong meds for weeks. FFS
We got a list of his current meds from the GP, organised with the chemist to clean up his stash, and arranged Webster Packs for him. No FFS
MIL gave him the first dose of pills from the Webster Pack - she popped out the wrong ones... FFS
We bought him a 4 prong walking stick to help him get about, even though we didn't think he'd use it. He uses it every day. No FFS
BM asked FIL if he would like a ramp built at the side of the house, he said yes. No FFS
BM's brother (BIL) and his wife (SIL#2) heard about the ramp, cracked the shits and refused to help. FFS
We were there almost 2 weeks, the day after we came home he was taken back to hospital. FFS
He's home again in the same condition as before. OKAY
While all of that was going on, SIL#1 was having shoulder surgery. FFS
It got infected and she was in hospital for 15 days and had a further 5 surgeries to fix the mess. FFS
SIL#1 is now an emotional wreck having gone through all of it on her own in a completely different state to the rest of us. FFS
Rang my Mum for a chat, she tells me she was getting breathless and her GP sent her for an ECG. They've found she has a heart murmur. FFS
She say's she's had it her whole life and is no biggy. No FFS
He said it's not so much a murmur, it's more of a shout. FFS
She needs surgery to replace a faulty valve and could pop off at any time. FFS
GP sent her for a blood test to check her BGL's. It came back at 6.8 which is borderline pre-diabetic. He told her that she has actual diabetes, but that if she follows his instructions, he can cure her! FFS
She believes him. FFS

I'm looking into getting some training wheels. No FFS
10 mins later I realise that my phone took the impact of my fall, was smashed to smithereens, and rendered completely useless. FFS
There's no reception at the farm, so I didn't miss it... much... No FFS

Right?!?
Oh dear, I do believe the FFS outweigh the No FFS. What a week!
